Question:
Can RNY distal ever eat salads? What can they put in the salad?

I had to sort of sneak up on salads. They didn't work for me at first,
because of gas. Many normies have trouble with gas from fresh veggies, too.
Now I can eat them, with any dressing, but I avoid dressing with milk.
Gas & bloating result from the milk, not to mention that it can bring
my weight back. As distal as I am, I don't worry about fats or carbs at
all. Otherwise, I load it up with my favorite goodies, including sunflower
seeds and cheese (processed cheese has no lactose) and savor every bite.

Before surgery I felt guilty if I did not order just a salad when dining
out. I hated them! Now I crave them! I can eat them with garbanzo beans,
cheese, sunflower seeds, olives carrots, anything - although a few days
later I do get the gas pains.

Hi. I had a distal RNY in Oct. of 1998. Today I eat whatever I want. I
eat salads with lettuce, tomato, carrots, cucumbers, radishes, onion, green
pepper, croutons, salad dressing, basically whatever I want to put on the
salad. Good luck.
