Question:
Anyone gained wt. back after reversal of WLS?
HI. Back in Oct.96, I had a RNY with great wt. loss results. I went from a postop high of 320 to 110. But I suffered many complications, some life threatening and had to have the surgery reversed in May 98, to save my life. Because of complications from that surgery, I haven't gained any wt. back- I am fed thru a catheter in my arm. I am having surgery June 23, to try to fix my small bowel problem (the 7th surgery). I am not afraid of the surgery but am afraid of being "cured" and possibly gaining the wt. back. What a decision, to have surgery and be healthy again or have surgery and be fat again. Being 5 feet tall and 320lbs was a living hell and I don't want to go back there again! Has anyone out there had a reversal and kept the wt. off? My eating habits are different now, I think I can controll my eating and I do exercise by walking 1/2 hr. a day. Any advice or words of encouragement gladly accepted. Thanks in advance. I am 7 mos post op and having a hard time digesting any food. One Doc
suggested I consider a reversal. Would love to hear what happened for you.
I have the same concerns. Wish you lots of luck and good health
