Question:
Has anyone ever heard of this program?

These people have several locations around the country. Has anyone ever heard of them? Are they good? Would you recommend them? Thanks!    — ericklein (posted on April 28, 1999)

When I had my surgery, 10/94, my doctor was affiliated with WfL. Everything I got had the little WfL logos, but I can't see how his affiliation made my experience better or worse. I tend to THINK (but don't KNOW) that it is an affiliation which gets the advertising and such for a group of docs. I have no idea as to whether they influence policy in terms of patients. It may all be internal or administrative. WHATEVER. I went from 262 to 112 and still holding. My husband (10/95) went from 285 to 175 and still holding. Since our doctor is no longer affiliated, nothing has really changed as far as aftercare or the success his patients are enjoying.

My doctor is with Weight for Life. I think they are terriffic. I don't know of any other doctors with that group but he was wonderful. I not only would but have recommended them to many people who have asked me where I got my surgery done.

Velma at weight for life was very helpful and professional. I am sure she facilitated my approval process.

my doctor is affiliated with WFL. I have found everyone connected to this program to be extremely helfpul. In fact, Velma from WFL was the person who was able to get authorization from my insurance company. without her, I probably wouldn't have been able to gave the surgery. WFL has been great!

When I had surgery last year, they handled all the paperwork. Without them, I do not know if I would ever have been approved for surgery. Dr. Kane, in Chicago has worked with them for several years.

I went through WFL for my surgery, which was 6/22/99. They helped me with insurance authorization and gave me surgeon options in the Southern CA area. I picked Dr. Kennith Thompson who I would highly recommend. Bonnie and Ginny from WFL helped make sure all the tests and paperwork were in order and as I mentioned helped with the insurance process. My experience with them was good.
