Question:
How soon can I golf after Lap rny?
I am soon to have laproscopic RNY, and was curious as to how long after surgery will it be before I can golf again? I did ask my surgeon and he said a couple of weeks. I am hoping for some more info from anyone else out there. Thank you. — mfielder (posted on May 18, 2005)

I would double check with your doctor. It takes 3 months for the insides
to heal and the point that came to mind with me (I am a golfer as well) is
that the bogeys can wait, I don't want to go back under the knife again.
For me, I do not want to do anything that could possibly stretch or tear a
stitch or open anything back up.

You would probably be fine at 3 weeks, but, I would wait a few weeks longer
than that to be on the safe side. Like
was said before me, you sure don't want to break anything
open. Good luck with your surgury & you won't regret having
it. The best thing you can do for yourself. Golfing will be so much better
in a smaller version of you.

Michelle I play golf and racketball alot I was back in the gym at 3 weeks
and playing racketball and golf at 4. I maybe an exception to the rule but
I was out of the hospital in a day and back at work in the same week of
surgery. So I would suggest that you do what your body will let you do.
You will know I promise. Good luck and keep it in the fairways.
