Question:
Is there any grants available for PS
I am having hernia repair done June 8th. I would also like to have a TT done at the same time however, that is a self pay issue. Do any of you know of any grants that I could apply for to soften the expense? Molly — Molly F. (posted on May 4, 2004)

I doubt there is a PS grant, but you might want to look into a loan. My
friend took one out and just like buying a car on time, you can enjoy it
and pay monthly. Good Luck!

Hi. The hernia repair will be covered by insurance. The hernia can be
approached using the same incision as a tummy tuck, and the muscle
tightening of a tummy tuck can be used to fix the hernia. The overnight
stay and many hospital costs would fall under the hernia repair paid by
INS. My advice: get a PS to accept INS on the hernia, discount the TT for
you, and expect a big chunk of the hospital stay to be covered by INS.
This saves you another surgery, maybe another incision, and for sure some
money. DO need a PS boarded in General surgery and willing to do the
hernia. This has worked out for my patients in the past.

I agree with Dr. LoMonaco. I paid $3,000.00 for my abdominoplasty by a
doctor who was both certified in plastic and general surgery. The hospital
stay was billed to insurance due to my hernia.
