Question:
I had my 9 month weigh in today and I didn't lose a pound since last month
I weigh still 182 having gained a pound since my 8 month weigh it. I've lost 3.5 pounds a month since my doctor visit 4 months ago today. I guess I just am one of those people that actually can eat and I do consume healthy calories. I know i'm not eating more than 1200 a day but I guess that's enough to keep me at the current weight. I'm at nearly 52% weight loss and I guess the rest is up to me now. ANYONE POST OP HAVE THESE KIND OF RESULTS? Am I to think that this is IT???? Thanks! — barbsbasic (posted on November 30, 2003)

First of all, Semper Fi (Marine Mom here)! I have slowed down a lot this
past month. I only update my profile once per month now, and will be due
for an update on the 7th, but have only lost two measly pounds so far this
month! I'm pretty close to goal, but have a feeling these last few pounds
are going to resist coming off. Seeing how you are a Marine, you already
know all about fitness, but are you currently getting any cardio? BTW, you
are a beautiful woman :) Barb 4/07/03 235/144/130

Hello,
When I went for my 3 month check up, my surgeon told me that he
could get me to 180 (I started at 280) but the rest of my weight loss after
that, was truly up to me. I sat there in his office thinking, ya right at
this rate I'll be at goal by Thanksgiving, there's no way that I'm going to
slow down. And wouldn't you know it, the moment I hit 180 I had to
struggle with every pound. Not that I didn't have to work for that 100
pound loss in 5 months, I did. I exercised 6 days a week and ate all high
protein foods with no white carbs. However, no matter what I've done since
I hit 180 every pound I had to work for. I've just accepted the fact that
my body really does want to put up a struggle and has now figured out what
I've done to it. So it's going to try to keep as many calories as it can.
Your body may just be making you work for it because it's figured out that
it only gets so many calories a day so it's going to hold on to what it
can. Which means that we have to work hard at exercise to loose the
weight. For me staying on a high protein low carb program keeps me at a
steady weight loss. So you may want to try that if your not doing it
currently and up the work out. But I definetly don't think that you are
done loosing. By the way, you look amazing! 280/153/140 Best Wishes~

I firmly believe that people who have this surgery are volume eaters or
have a screwed up metabolism. I unfortunately fall into the metabolism
category.
<b>
<b>After reading ur profile, I see we had our surgeries around the
same time. I think you really need to increase ur exercise. IF you get in
at least 30 to 40 minutes of cardio 3 to 4 times a week you will see more
than just 3 lbs a month. I am still losing about 10lbs a month. My slowest
month was 7lbs. If you are eating properly, all you need to do is increase
ur activity and exercise. You may not see results right away, but within a
month u will be surprised how much u will lose at one time. Stay
encouraged! Keisha 3/12/03 316/207/165
