Hi. I know exactly what you mean. I am also having surgery on September
3rd. So far I am scheduled for 10:55 but I have to call in on the 2nd to
check the time because surgery times are always changing. I have been
getting ready for surgery and afterward. I have everything packed for the
hospital and I purchased the things my nutritionist recommended for after
surgery. Today I have been cleaning so I don't have to do that when I get
home. Also, I wrote out all my bills and dated them for next week so they
can just be mailed. I was planning on going out to eat as a "last
meal" type of dinner. It seems the closer I get to the date the less I
want to eat. One other thing I want to do is clean out my refridgerator and
cupboards. The things I know I can't eat I'll give to someone that will eat
them. Anyway, Good Luck, I'm sure you'll be fine. If you want to talk you
can email me. : )

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I just wanted to let you know
something that I was involved in pre-op and now as a post-op as well. I
had my surgery on 3/20 and a dozen of us who were having surgery on the
same day started a support group. The help has been invaluable to me.
Perhaps you and Amy could get together to start a group by looking up other
patients on this site and sending out a mass e-mail. It really helps if
you do this pre-op but if you don't have the time perhaps asap post-op. We
have all shared so much and are even planning to spend our one year
anniversary together at DisneyWorld.....we can all actually fit on the
rides now....lol. It's completely normal to be nervous and excited at the
same time...by the time I was that close to my surgery, I was completely
numb. No emotions either way. I had planned on having the surgery in
October but chickened out so I couldn't let those feelings overwhelm me
once I had gotten so close to my date. Now, I am so glad that I did this.
It has been five months and one week since surgery and I have already lost
over 100lbs and am only 27lbs to my goal weight. You have such a journey
ahead of you...enjoy it! Good luck. Feel free to e-mail me anytime.

I am scheduled for Sept. 23 and I feel the same way. I can't imagine what I
will be like within 4 days of surgery. I have been saying to my husband
"This is the last 23 days of my life." Not that I think I might
die but you just never really know and then IT is the last 23 days of this
LIFE STYLE! Good Luck to you and may God speed your recovery and journey.

Congrats! You are normal. Exeryone gets that way right before. Just make
you sure you have everything you need to eat and you protein drinks and
stuff so you don't have to think about that after the surgery. What helped
me was we started agroup from obesityhelp.com. everyone who was have
surgery on april 9th received a email and we still talk to one another and
it has been 1 yr and 5 months. It kinda helped because we all started the
same day and were going through the same things. you might want to start
you group. Also, the day before I had a girls night out. Me and about 5-6
of my friends went out on my LAST DINNER party. we laughed and talked. It
kind of help me not get so nervous the day before. Good luck!
