Is the one ounce of water and one ounce of Carnation Instant Breakfast your
surgeon's instructions? I was on full liquids for a week but I sipped
constantly. I LIVED on V8 Juice and then had broth or jello for
"meals". I also drank Crystal Light and ate sugar free
popsicles. But 95% of my diet came from V8. My surgeon didn't want me
having any milk products at that time so that left out creamed soups, etc.
By the way, I lost 30 pounds in 12 days so something worked right. I am
now 19 months post op and have lost 181 pounds and have reached my
surgeon's goal.

1 oz per hour? That's only 24 oz a day! We were on 10 oz per hour, 1 oz
every 5 minutes or so. Instead of CIB, why not try real protein made with
water? None of the sugar, far more protein. s/f Jello, broth, V-8, Crystal
Light, and there are a ton of sugar free beverages out there now.

I think you should call and ask for clarification. I know that when I was
IN THE HOSPITAL, I was on a tiny plan like that, but was to start my
regular meal plan when I got home. Maybe they didn't make it clear.
