Question:
Has anyone tried Basil White's homemade protein shake?

The url is: http://www.basilwhite.com/gastric/. The recipe is: "- take a cup - add 4 ounces of water - add 2 scoops of chocolate 100% pure whey protein (available at vitamin stores and some grocery stores - don't let them talk you into the vitamin-fortified crap) - add 1 scoop of pure soy powder (also available at vitamin stores and some grocery stores - you need the soy for the two amino acids that are really hard to find from anything else on the planet except for soy) - add 1-2 tablespoons of No Sugar Added Nesquik chocolate powder - Mix this stuff up with a spoon until it's the consistency of pudding. - Add more water until it's the consistency you want. Mixing the ingredients in this way eliminates little pockets of dry unmixed ingredients." He goes on to say: "Two of these shakes gives me the 60 grams of supplemental protein a day my nutritionist recommended for male gastric bypass patients (50 grams for women). It's very yummy, and eliminates all of my desires for food for about two hours. It's even better if you mix it with an electric "boat motor" hand blender. "    — sweetmana (posted on July 12, 2003)

Interesting but I wonder if there is another recipe for those of us who don't like "chocolate"?

i have not tried it but it sounds really good. the only thing that sounded bad about it was that he said he mixed a large batch and drank from it all day or something like that, but as i have been told, protein begins to break down as soon as a half an hour after you mix with it. so after a while, i wouldnt think his drink would have much protein quality left. but he looks great so it must work.
