Question:
Question for those that have had hernia repair

Hi all! I had Lap hernia repair done last Wednesday. I am still very sore and a little swollen. I was wondering what the recovery time was like for anyone else who had this done. I have t go to work tomorrow as there are things I must take care of. I was thinking of seeing if I could take some vacation days for the rest of the week after tomorrow. What do you think? I had open hernia repair with a panniculectomy. My surgeon insisted that I take at least two weeks off. In fact, he told me to be prepared to take off four weeks. But, I could have gone back after a week, I think. I was swollen for about 6 weeks but, remember I had 250 staples. I would see how you are feeling tomorrow. You could even see about working half days if you are up to it.
