Question:
Any post-opts like to comment on firming agents, products, or treatments?
Do these products or treaments acually work on "minimum" loose skin revisioning. Does constant body building and cardio has something to do with these agents being more successful? (I'm talking about a little fold here some wrinkles there...) And please don't be hesitant to repsond if you feel these agents have worked on larger promblems that you may have thought only surgery could revise. — so2luv (posted on May 6, 2003)

Basically the answer is no, unfortunately. They really don't get rid of
wrinkles and certainly don't firm skin up to any degree. They
"may" temporarily help keep skin hydrated which may help the
appearance to be less wrinkly (in certain lights, etc). Nothing, as far as
the over the counter products you're speaking of, firms up our skin. I
also have never heard of any of those anti-cellulite creams ever working
either. I used Revitalift on my under-chin and neck areas and it
"looked" like it was doing something. But alas, a year post-op,
I have that loose skin thing under there (I hate it and it's the first
thing I'll have done when I get the $$$ for plastics). I also believe that
ANY lotion (Intensive Care, Keri, all the way up to an Estee Lauder or
Prescriptives cream)all work the same...the help to keep water in the skin
(hydration) and nothing more. Trust me, if anyone had found one of these
skin creams/lotions that actually did something permanent to help our saggy
skin, we would have heard about it by now! LOL I was a licensed
esthetician in the 80s, yet post-op I still believed in the
"miracle" and slapped down the $20.00 for the Revitalift. I will
say one thing...it does smell good. Hugs, Joy
