Question about Dr. Cribbins, Plano TX

I called Dr. Cribbins office today and they said their first available appointment for consult is OCTOBER!!! That's SIX months from now! I asked to be put on their cancellation list. Has anyone with Dr. Cribbins been called earlier to replace a cancellation? Or, am I just wishfully thinking they'll call me? K    — Kimberly S. (posted on April 10, 2003)

kimberly, i am in east texas, tyler area, and my doctor has alot of patients from the dallas/fort worth area. you could get your first consult within 2 mo. and surgery as soon as insurance approves and you get your testing done he is a wonderful dr. i am pre op but i know several of his patients and they very pleased. if you would like more info you can email me at [email protected] hope this helps! oh ya its only an 1 1/2 hour drive! you could be on the losing side by october!

Did you try Dr. Capehart in Dallas. She has an office at Methodist Central and operates there and at Doctors Hospital. Good luck.

Try my surgeon. His name is Dr. Glen Ihde. He was head of surgery at BTC, before opening his own practice in September. He doesn't have much of a waiting list at all and you will be well on the road to recovery before you get to see Dr. Cribbins. Email me and I will give you his phone number and any info you want. I urge you to hold off on switching doctors until you do extensive research on new docs poeople have told you of and talk to their patients. WLS is a very serious surgery and well worth the wait for a good doctor. Check out complication and death rates of new docs you are hearing about. Not knocking anyones doctor or anything so don't send me hate mail, but there are waiting list for a reason. Most of the best WLS docs have the longest waiting period. Just a thought. Good luck.

I tried to get in with Dr Cribbons , but went to BTC in Whylie and had Dr Leverton and to me she is the best!!!! my insicion looks pencil thin and I am walking around and even driving I have been told I act like I did not even have the surgery I feel great I HIGHLY recmend Dr Leverton even though she was outof network for me she was the best !!!! from the time of my consult was Jan 27 2003 Surgery was April 2 did not have to wait long , she is hard to get so you have to ask for her
