Question:
Is this it........????
I am 5 months post-op, I am 5' and started at 213, I am now 146, now dont get me wrong I am sooo grateful for this but can this be it? I go from 145 to 147 back to 145. I do everything right I think. I exercise, no breads or pasta, drink my water. My ideal weight is 118, and I just dont see it. — April G. (posted on February 16, 2003)

If you are only 5 months out, this is not it, trust me!

April, its just a plateau and the body is just taking a break. I know how
frustrating it is-at 1 year post-op, for the past few months, that is how I
lose weight, up 2, down 2, up one, down 2, up 1, down 1, etc, etc.....I can
play with the same 2 pounds for a month. Sigh. At 5 months post-op you
are definitely not over losing. Your exercising, drinking water, keeping
the protein up? If so, just keep at it..perhaps add a little more protein
to the diet, or add an exercise session or vary the type of exercise.
Sometimes just a little tweak helps.

It's definately not it! don't worry, it's plateau- and some can last for
weeks, some months I;ve heard. So if it's been a while, don't worry too
much. And also, usually around 6 months out, the weight loss slows down, so
just be prepared. Just like the others said, increase protein and water.
And if you do nothing else, exercise! I found that has helped me so much
with my plateaus. I am losing more weight again since I started exercising!
I was 250, and now 8 1/2 months later I weigh 145lbs., 15 away from my
goal. Goodluck to you, you're doing great!
