It's probably best to check with your doctor...I had to quit smoking prior
to my surgery. I know that you wouldn't have the respiratory complications
from dipping, my concern would be that the nicotine may increase your heart
rate, blood pressure and effect blood flow. Best to check with the
surgeon!

I'd check with the surgeon. And I'd be concerned about the nicotine
trickling into the stomach and irritating it pre-op and/or post-op. Good
luck with it.

I know that smoking and/or drinking can cause ulcers post-op b/c it can
irritate our small tummy. Idid both post-op for a short period of time and
developed a marginal ulcer. Could be a coincidence, could just be from WLS
alone, could be from taking too much medicine, who knows. Either way, I'd
be careful, I know it's extremely hard to quit, but it can irritate your
stomach.

What a great time to stop dipping! Painkillers and three days of
abstinence will work wonders!! Why lose the weight and still work towards
mouth and throat cancer?!?
