Question:
I am so excited about my success I would love to start a business!
I am 3 weeks post op and am doing great. I would love to start a small part-time business related to WLS--anyone have any ideas on what is needed out there? I have done so much research on WLS my PCP calls ME for assistance in answering questions- I have started my own support group and have a lot of enthusiasm to spread "the good word about WLS"...any suggestions for a business? patient advocate? assisting in appeal letter writing? any suggestions welcome! — Stephanie S. I think if there was a way to learn the insurance systems from the
different states, to include the Medicare system and how to get this
surgery approved for all the people who are turned down or excluded by
their insurance companies, that would be a big help. I was not turned
down, but sure would have paid for some one to become my advocate and walk
me thru the complicated system of insurance. I've read long stories from
other pre-ops who are soooo frustrated by their insurance process that help
in shortening the process would be welcome, for sure. For that matter, I
have seen more refusals for plastic surgery after WLS, so that could be
included.

Hello! I too have thought about starting a business after my surgery and
everything is complete. I just don't know what to do yet. Good Luck to
you, and congrats on your success with surgery!

Hi Stephanie I had two relatives who traveled 4 hours to have surgery. They
were given a list of people who help them after surgery. They would visit,
take phone calls, even make sure they had the right stuff post-op. This was
in the Motels after surgery. Sometimes their homes if they lived near by.
Some people go thru this whole thing alone. I think my cousin said she paid
50.00 a day for her helper. Keep looking for your niche you will find it.
