Question:
Dr. took one out, and left stiches and other tubes in. PAINNNNN
I feel all tied up and when I move any kind of way it hurts. Sleeping is very uncomformble,I want to move around but don't because of the soreness. I have my binder on always. I leak from the tube that was removed. The only thing I can do is keep it Clean. — Naes Wls J. (posted on December 30, 2002)

I also had leakage from my drain tubes and was scared to death. The doctor
keep saying it was because I was pulling it, and he was right. When he took
my second drain out 5 days later, I drained fron it for about a week, and
then it was all gone. He explained that side had more repair than the other
and that was why I had more drainage and soreness. It has been 3 mos and I
have had no problems. Hope all goes well with you also.

I had my last tube out on 12/23. I had two drains and a tube down into my
old stomach. I leaked from one drain the entire time it was in and for two
days after. The other drain leaked a little after it came out but that
ended in a day. The worst was the gastric line. It leaked for 48 hours
after it was removed. I had to keep a towel taped over it the whole time.
And if I laughed, it would gush. That was a week ago. Now, it is all
healing well. Keep it clean and use the binder if it helps (I only wore
mine at night). It will heal and get better over time. Call your doctor at
once if the leaking gets yellow or starts to small bad (bad? worse?). Keep
an eye on the site to make sure it doesn't get red or angry looking. Hang
in there!
