Question:
What Cold Drink Can I order at Starbucks that is sugar free?
Hi...I used to go to Starbucks pre-op and have a Mocha Frappacino...Now the only thing I can have is a sugar free Vanilla drink...Now someone said they got a sugar free chocolate drink...But when I went there none of the kids that worked ther knew anything about it...Has anyone gotten a sugar free COLD drink besides the Vanilla one? I live in Seattle, where you can't spit without hitting a Starbucks (though
that could describe where you live, too--they're taking over the world).
The ONLY thing they have that's sugar-free is vanilla syrup. I've asked
why, and the answer I get is "well, that's the only s/f flavor anybody
asks for." I reply, "That's because it's the only flavor you've
got." I have NO idea why Starbucks is so reluctant to go s/f--all the
other coffee places in town have a good variety of s/f flavors to choose
from.

I agree with Roxanne, I live in Portland Oregon and we too have a Starbucks
every few feet. It's deplorble that they are so set in there 'take over the
coffee world' mode that they don't listen to consumers. My advice.. seek
out OTHER coffee venues and ask what flavors of sugar free syrups they had.
ALSO if you find a place that works with cocoa instead of the sweetened
syrup for mochas you can have sugar free chocolate drinks.. just be sure
and have them add another flavored syrup for sweetening or add your own
sugar substitue. I love sugar free iced almond lattes.
Many places will also 'blend' your iced beverage so it has more the
consitency of the Frappucino you are missing.
One other thought.. buy your own sugar free syrups and build your drinks at
home. They don't always taste quite the same, but it can help calm a
craving. Good luck! ~Peace

Geesh John, I don't see anything wrong with someone wanting to have
something to drink BESIDES ice water. *G*

All they offer at our Starbucks is the Vanilla also. Bummer. I would like
different flavors also. Maybe if we all call and 'suggest' different
flavors to the home office...?? I'm human and enjoy other drinks besides
water all of the time. Early post-op I was 'water dedicated' when it was
necessary. Now after 1 year post-op, I treat myself with a decaf, sf
vanilla latte, every once in a while. I love 'em!

hi, i go to coffee shops all the time and order an iced decaf brave latte
with sugar free syrup. They make it with half and half instead of milk, so
it's so much richer (and has less carbs!) I've also ordered that as an
iced decaf soy latte with sugar free syrup (for some protein). :) I hope
that helps!

Oh boy, I have to answer this ;)
I have at least one SF iced skinny latte/day, sometimes two. I don't eat
enough so I have no guilt about it. Luckily our Starbucks (@ Barnes and
Noble = small town) has three SF flavors: hazelnut, raspberry and vanilla.
I bug them constantly to get more.
To save money, I have invested in a good French Press coffee maker, make
espresso, add the skim milk, and keep SF flavors at work. Then I can have a
cheap latte whenever I want. I usually make two quarts/time and keep it in
the fridge. YUM! Keep bugging them about flavors... they have to give in
sometime. After I post this I am going to the Starbucks website to see how
I can bug them there, too ;)
Salut! -Shelli

I don't know where you live but I live in Portland, Oregon and I am totally
addicted to good coffee, a I'm lucky that the selection here is amazing.
Ditch the McDonald's of the coffee world and seek out something else. Let
me suggest Seattle's Best--their chocolate is bittersweet so not so
sickening sweet, or Coffee People, Torrefazzione Italia or basically
anything other than STarbucks. I have found that many coffee stands and
not chains, carry a much wider selection of sugar-free flavours, even
chocolate! You can have a non-fat, sugar-free, decaf mocha and you won't
even know the difference!
