Question:
Has anyone had a LAP RNY & a Tubal Ligation at the same time?

Unfortunately, my surgery had to be changed from a lap RNY to an open
because I want the tubal too. My doctor said the parts were too far apart
and requires separate manipulations to afford the lap RNY. Just as well
he'll get a great view of things--and I don't need baby #6 to show up
because of an obstructed view. Good Luck--I know I decided I did not want
general anesthesia twice just to get the lap.

One thing to remember is if you need plastic surgery later one (how many of
us don't!!), your insurance will pay for the hospital and anesthesia if you
get your tubes tied in conjunction with a plastic surgery (if it's not
covered by insurance). That's what I plan on doing next month to finish my
arm surgery.

I had a lap rny and another lap gyn surgeon came in also and removed my
ovaries. No problem - used the same holes also.
