Question:
how long after open surgery does it normally take to go back to work?

Hi LoyAnn, I was out of work 4 weeks. It was good for me to take the whole
4 weeks and rest up for the return to work. Good luck!

My doctor advises 4 weeks off of work. The main reason being that this
operation is about a change in lifestyle and reducing stress in our lives.

My dtr said 3-4 weeks for open RNY, my incision has been open & leaking
since 2 wks post op, so, my dtr wouldn't let me go back to work yet. I
have been phyiscally able since week 3. Good Luck.
