Question:
Looking for Dr. doing LapBand in/near Sacramento (ideally a Blue Cross Pref Prov)

I am looking for a bariatric surgeon who has done many LapBand surgeries in or near the Sacramento/Roseville areas of California. Dr. Bruce Wolfe has a 6 month waiting list for a 1st appointment and I would like to find another well-qualified doctor who can see me sooner. Although I would prefer to find someone in/near Sacramento/Roseville, I am willing to drive 2-3 hours. Also ideally, I would prefer a doctor who is a Blue Cross Preferred Provider as I have Blue Cross PERS Choice PPO insurance.    — Victoria Lani A. (posted on September 12, 2002)

My surgeons (Drs. Gregg Jossart and Paul Cirangle) perform the lapband procedure. They practice out of California Pacific Medical Center (Pacific Campus) in San Francisco. Dr. Jossart is the head of Laprascopic Surgery at the hospital.

Dr. Steven Patching is on University Way in Sacramento. He does the lap band and you can read comments about him in the 'surgeons' section of this site. He is an excellent surgeon. I'm not sure about the insurance part of your question, you would have to call and ask. Good Luck!
