Question:
How can I look good in a wedding dress?

I'm starting to plan a wedding and I'm still about 40 lbs. above my goal. I'm a slow loser but I'm not worried about taking it off before the wedding. What I am worried about is having all the excess skin that is oh, so very obvious. Does anyone have any resources or suggestions as to where I can find a really good body suit?    — C. G. Well my wife was beautiful in her dress, even weighing near 300 pounds. So for HIM, you will be a knockout! Beauty is inside espically if its you new spouse.

I am getting married in october and still 70 pounds from goal. I have lost 185 pounds and have tons of hanging skin. But wedding dress will cover all the loose skin! My seamstress told me to buy a really good push-up bra so the dress fits better in the bust. I am also having long sleeves put on my dress. but otherwise all skin will not show. Congrats on your upcoming wedding.

Even Wal-Mart sells the bodysuits. You can get a corset type thing and you can also get the underwear that go up really high that way you can wear a good bra. Like she said below, it is really important to have a good bra. My suggestion would be to get the undies that hold you in and get a good bra. However, it is true that the dress will cover you up unless you have a tigh-fitting one through the waist and hips.

Hi! You're going to glow so much from happiness that it won't matter! SERIOUSLY!! A bodysuit is a great idea - I wore one with built in bra under my dress, when I was 100 lbs overweight and it worked wonders. A bodysuit will smooth you out, so to speak, and will pull you in. You can find them with built in bras, extended legs, etc. But, at the same time, you are going to be beautiful even if you wore a brown paper bag and were still pre-op! Enjoy your wonderful wedding day!

Lane Bryant catalog has some really nice body suits. Remember though, the store and catalog are diff. So try getting the catalog on the web. The catalog carries much more than the store itself.

I was MO AND 6 mos. pregnant when I married my boyfriend of 8 years. I just wore a good bra and an inexpensive girdle that looked like biking shorts under my dress. I was 100% comfortable and was completely happy with how I looked. So no, you don't have to spend much money at all to look good on your wedding day! (In fact, I wore a black empire-waisted velour dress with a little beadwork and some crystals in my hair and I felt like a million bucks - and it only cost about $60... it's all in the ATTITUDE!)

Hi, I think you will look wonderful! Everyone is right - the dress will cover the loose skin - just don't get sleeveless! Anyway - I was 285 when I got married 10 years ago and looking at the pictures - I still looked great! It is hard not to look good in a wedding dress. This last part is to BOB - too bad you are married! You are wonderful and the other poster is right - how wonderful it must be to have a man love you that much and be happy to say it all the time! Kudos to you and lucky Jen!
