Question:
My dr has had all info from required appts for over 2 months and he hasnt submitted
I had my consult on May 31 and all the required appts by 6/14 and he still has not submitted. I am considering changing drs but dont want to start over...any suggestions? — Lynda D. (posted on August 13, 2002)

My WLS dr was extremely slow in submitting forms to my insurance company.
They originally told me it would take a couple of days, when in reality it
was nearly 6 weeks. After one month, my solution was to call every few
days, and politely ask if it had been sent. Within 10 days of this, they
finally turned the docs over to the insurance company. Now they are
super-prompt about answering my questions.

Mine waited until about 2 weeks before my scheduled date to submit, as a
matter of practice. This stressed me out a bit, and I called often to get
reassurance that I would be covered, they just time it as they deem
appropriate. VBG 4 years ago, and a revision in May -- both were approved
with first request (different insurances too!), so this policy is okay by
me. Apparently they have earned the confidence that they have.

Call and make a peast of yourself. The nurse will want to get you off her
back so bad she'll push it through

Girl, I feel your pain! I've been going through this with doctor #1 since
May -- and have finally decided to look elsewhere. I have appts. scheduled
for doctors 2 and 3 in the next few weeks....YOU should be the master of
your destiny here. Look elsewhere.
