Question:
Babies????
I got my paper work from my doctor today. They ask if you have children.. does it matter? Can they tell if you have or haven't? I am wondering what the impotance of the question is. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies! — bleever (posted on August 13, 2002)

That is just a standard question that is asked. There could be many
reasons a doctor would ask, but it will not affect your eligibility to be
considered for surgery. As far as being able to tell...it is unlikely that
they would perform any tests/exams that would indicate a previous pregnancy
or child birth. Hope this eases your mind.

well like the previous post i agree that it seems to be a standered
question for doctors ( i was ask about it when i had surgery on my hand
lol. In my case with the Bariatric surgeon it was very important that he
know about my children since two of the three were delivered c section via
long cut so there is ALOT of extra scar tissue that he needs to know about
and is going to have to deal with. It is always a good idea to be
completly honest and upfrount with your surgeon the more information they
know about us pyshicaly the better they can help us :D
