I recommend Sudafed to keep the mucus draining. The cough is probably from
post nasal drip, but some Robitussin will help with that. Tylenol should
help with the sore throat and any aches or pains. I also like Cepacol
spray for a local anesthetic. Make sure you don't skip your liquids, as
they will keep secretions liquid enough to move on out of your sinuses,
etc. You need your protein because it ups your immunity and so does
vitamin C. I also recommend Vicks Vapo Rub and a cool mist humidifier.
Gargle your throat with warm salt water, and if it doesn't get better in a
couple days, you may need an antibiotic for a bacterial thing. Note: You
can probably get a child's liquid with all of the above in it at Wal-Mart.
Triaminic has some great multi-symptom formulas. Yes, I've been there,
done that a lot!!! Hope you feel better soon!

I will mention a interesting theory that I suspect is true. Get a cold take NOTHING.. suffer and it goes
away fast. Take meds and although you feel a bit better it hangs in longer.
I have seen this, I suffer and Jen who tries to medicate it away is sick
twice as long as I am.
