Question:
Is BCBS of AL more worried about the 100 lbs overweight or the BMI of 40 or more?

I have BCBS of AL and my surgeon's office told me that their criteria for approving the surgery was the 100 pounds. They never mentioned word one about BMI. Hope that helps.

They are looking at the 100lbs. overweight. I also have BCBS of Al and had surgery on April 30th. You have to have 2 years of a diet and weight history for them also. If you need anymore information, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]
