Question:
Can anyone give me any information about Dr. Kermie Robinson @ Rockdale Medical?

He is my surgeon and is a very quiet, yet very knowledgable doctor. The first office visit Elayne, his nurse, will weigh you and take your pictures (this is after filling out numerous papers out front)and ask you several questions. Then you will have a short visit with the doctor, he requires attendance to an informational meeting, a nutrionist, Dr. Shannon McRob, will also be present, there you will also have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. You also,have to attend at least one support group meeting before surgery. The support group meets the first Wednesday of each month. Rose, is the insurance coordinator, she is unbelieveably nice and so helpful in the insurance process. Dr. Robinson does the Open RNY or the Open RNY with the Fobi Pouch. The Fobi pouch is still considered experimental by most all insurance companies and will not be covered. You can still have it but it will cost you an extra $1800.-$3200.00 out of pocket. My surgery is scheduled for August 7, 2002 at Rockdale Hospital (almost across the street from his office. I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Robinson and his staff and although I have never been in Rockdale Hospital for any type of surgery, I hear that the hospital is an excellent care facility. Your surgery date, once insurance approves, shouldn't be to far down the road. He does 3 surgeries on Wednesday of every week and doesn't seem to be to backed up. Hope this helps, Jo-Dee Hortz
