I am thinking of taking Metabolife to get the 30lbs. off quickly. — Janine O. (posted on July 1, 2002)

Does your surgeon have you seeing a nutritionist?? Thats the best way to
go so therefore they have documented weight loss, and know that you are
doing it in a safe way and it prepares you for how you will need to eat
AFTER surgery. I am halfway to losing my 10% now, and in the beginning I
contemplated using diet pills ets., but I am glad I didnt because I have
learned so much on how to eat better and knowing whats good after surgery
and whats not.

I don't think that would be a good idea. Prior to surgery, you want to get
your body inot "surgery shape"....mostly all the diet pills out
there containt that ephedrine (sp?) that speeds up your heart and I
wouldn't want that type of drug in my body. The best way, start drinking
alot of water, walk a bit and give up all caffeine.

I won't suggest that.....speak witrh your nutrionist. However, all those
diet pills are just legal "SPEED" and mess with your heart. When
having surgery, you want to be in the best shape and health you can be.
Start by drinking alot of water, quit smoking if you smoke and stop with
the caffeine. Plus, start walking. Doing that for a month, will drop you
at least 10 lbs and your body will be more prepared for the surgery. Plus,
I bet you will be better post-op with these preperations rather than a 10%
weight loss b/c of diet pills.
