Question:
After surgery, will I be able to compete in contact sports? i.e. sparring, kickboxing

I am very interested in an answer to this, too. Before knee surgery I was very much into Judo. After I knee surgery I started my roll onto gaining 125 pounds. When I lose that weight, I want to get back on the mat. Will I be able? Judo was the only form of exercise I could ever dedicate myself to, and the only one that helped me maintain/lose weight over time.

Thanks so much for your ans. I practice Tong so Do, and currently hold a upper blue belt also. My main source of exercise when I am finished with this surgery is to go all the way, black belt. If I can find an instructor in this area. I have already found a kick boxing coach, he works part time at my job, and holds serveral titles in the savannah area. Ya know even with the weight I can still deliver one h_ll of a flying side kick. I just get more attention and appluse cause folks think it's so amazing a FAT person can get that much speed & air. (I usually end up on my nebulizer for a minute after that, but I love to see those jaws hit the floor!)
