Question:
I am now 2 1/2 weeks post and still cannot get in my water.
Did you experience this too and how and/or when did you overcome it? — Patricia S. (posted on May 27, 2002)

Hi,
Just do the best you can. Prior to surgery, I used to
drink tons of water, and after, the taste of it made
me sick... I am three months post op and am just now
getting close to drinking the required amounts of water
but it remains an effort for me. I do drink crystal
light and diet snapple to compensate and ensure that I
am getting enough fluids, and most days I think that I
do. Don't worry, do the best that you can and continue
to look toward the goal of 64 oz a day. You will get there!

Hi. You're still new at all this, so be patient. Try mixing half water
and half crystal lite, or 3/4 water and 1/4 o.j., anything to break the
boring taste of water only. And just sip with a straw, do the best you
can. You'll be fine. I know it's difficult. I'm 7 months post op and
believe me, it's an effort to get that water in. Best of luck on your
journey. Enjoy the ride.

Hi! I am 4 mos postop and also have trouble with 64 oz of water, but
remember to count all of your liquids in that total! try some V8, its great
tasting and good for you, low in cals too. I drink farmland's best skim
milk, at least 12 oz a day, it has 37% more protein than regular skim milk,
11 grams per cup! I also take bottled water, add some splenda and some
sliced lemons and limes. It tastes much better than plain. I have also
mixed juices and water, and added sugar free syrup to skim milk just to get
the milk in for the protein and the liquid! I sometimes have trouble eating
enough too, but I know If I am drinking plenty and trying to get my protein
in on a regular basis, it will all be okay in the end! Good luck, hang in
there! Love Donna
