Question:
Fruit Naturals with12g sugar?
I am 4 months post-op and can eat without any problems Del Monte Fruit Naturals Peach Cup with 12g of sugar. Does that mean that I won't dump if I eat some candy or other sweet? I haven't tried sweets and I do not want to try sweets b/c I'm afraid I won't dump and sweets have been my down fall my entire life. I do, however, want to know if the 12g of sugar in the fruit cup is different from 12g of sugar in candy? 12g of sugar seems like a lot. Thanks for your input. — Tammy B. (posted on April 18, 2002)

The sugar in fruit is called a natural sugar and it does not make most
people dump. Even though sugar is a natural product. It is when it is added
to somthing that makes us dump. Hmmmmmmm did that make sence? Ok let me try
again, if it is naturaly in a item then most people do not dump off it.
Well i hope you understand this. Sorry if it doesnt sound right. Nancy

I have dumped, as many locals here, on fruits. Not even canned fruits with
juice, but just naked fruit. I always figure if it will make me dump, it
can make me fat again. And yes, "natural" sugars will gradually
increase your sugar tolerance. Today 12g, next week 22g. Been there, and
was able to reset my dump-o-meter. I try to be smarter now.
