Question:
If you overeat or eat the wrong foods and know.....
you are going to pay the price for it will drinking extra water help in anyway to force the food on down before you have to feel the pain of overeating or dumping? — Lesa P. (posted on April 8, 2002)

Nope! The water just makes me more full and I had even greater pain. Once
the deed is done, first comes the pain, then comes the vomiting and a dry
upper mouth, shaking, fear. At least, that has been my experience in the
past. I rarely overeat while out because of this very reason. I never drink
with meals, but I did try the water thing when I knew I overate and was in
trouble.

When I get too full, any drinking will just make me more miserable.
However, it is a feeling that teaches you to be more carefull next time.

I don't dump, but when I don't chew properly, and I drink anything,
including water it hurts more, and I usually throw up, putting more on your
stomach no matter what it is is an awful feeling!!!!!!1

I am having a terrible time this week with overeating and then vomiting. I
find that it comes on suddenly. I am going along just fine and all of a
sudden I feel overly full and very uncomfortable. Then I vomit. What
bothers me is that I do not always know what I did wrong to get to this
point...not chew enough, eat too much, eat too fast and I also want to know
if this stretches your pouch. I am 6 weeks out and just beginning real
food and frankly I do not trust myself. Every new bite is a learning
experience but I am often amazed at what I can't tolerate. I am very
frustrated!
