Question:
I have BC/BS of Illinois, HMO

My doctor is going to send in the letter to BC/BS but I am SO afraid that I won't get approved. Has anyone else had a problem with them?    — Michelle S. (posted on March 28, 2002)

Do not be afraid, you meet the criteria for getting approved. Just make sure that you are doing what your insurance policy says to do ie: if you need a written referral from your PCP etc. I have BCBS of IL PPO and was approved in a couple of days Good Luck

I don't believe you'll have any trouble getting approved. I have BCBS of Illinois PPO and was approved in 2 days. Illinois is one of the states that approves WLS easily. Good luck!

hi i have bcbs of il hmo and i was approved very quickly just one thing you will need to supply proof of medically supervised diets going back 5 yrs...and of course it has to be shown to be medically necessary other than that they approved me rather quickly...i think it took a week after me calling every other day lol....to be approved...good luck to you on your journey.
