Question:
How much caffine is too much...I called Swiss Miss and asked about how much caffine..
The Swiss Miss Co. said their hot chocolate products are 99.9% caffine free. That is only 8ml per serving, that is very low, can we count hot chocolate in our water intake with that low a number? — Peggy N. (posted on March 20, 2002)

8 is negligible so I would count it. Coffee is like 65.

My doc at BTC told me to wait two weeks after WLS, and get in 64 ounces
water during the two weeks period, before I started back on caffiene. I
must drink close to a gallon of caffinated tea a day (don't recommend it
though), and at 6 months post-op I haven't had any problems at all. If you
are really worried, ask your doctor or nutritionist :)

My dietician told me to stay away from caffine and carbination for the rest
of my life, especially the direct months after surgery. caffine causes
ulcers to form in your new delicate pouch, and carbination causes your new
pouch to expand and get larger over time. I'm going to be ordering a hot
chocolate mix soon from my dietician at my center that I'm having my
surgery at. It is supposed to taste just like Swiss Miss and it has 15g of
protein for an 8oz serving. When I see exactly what brand it is and if I
like it I'll leave another message. Stay away from surgar content too.
Anything over 5 or 10 grams a serving might make you dump.
