Question:
I Believe I will need a TT after my surgery. How do I begin?
TO GO ABOUT GETTING IT APPROVED BY MY INSURANCE - BCBS HMO? HOW DO I FIND A PLASTIC SURGEON THAT TAKES MY INSURANCE. SO FAR NONE OF THEM DO! ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS — [Anonymous] (posted on January 16, 2002)

I only weighed 243-244# at the time of my surgery, almost 4 months ago, not
a lot compared to some others, but I have also had two HUGE babies! My
tummy has always had a sag to it. With my weight loss it is sagging worse
and I have started getting infections (no matter how clean I keep myself)
under the sag and in my belly button. I need a TT too, if nothing else but
to stop the infections. Next time I go in to see my gyn. I am going to
mention the infections, the weight loss, and see if he will do the
recommendation for a TT. I wouldn't use the words 'Tummy Tuck' tho, there
is another word for it, I just can't remember it right now. Let me see if
I can find it for you.

The word is 'panniculectomy'. Good luck & let me know how you are
doing. :)
