I would get some Gatorade or Powerade, (try several flavors) sugar free Jell-0, lots of Crystal Light, if you like tea get decaffientated. I take a Flintstones Chewable vitamin daily and chewable calcium (Viactiv) 500 mg. chewies, 1 twice a day. And don't forget your best friend, WATER! I add a little lemon juice to mine for some zip! Good luck to you!!!!

I don't know what your doctor's regimen is but for the first week I was out of the hospital I was on full liquids. I lived on V8 (the vegetable kind) juice. My surgeon also suggested things like Gatorade, sf jello, Crystal Lite, strained soups, and SF V8 Splash. About all I drank was the V8, Crystal Lite and some sugar free popscicles. Hope this helps. Good luck with your surgery. Patty

For sure buy straws, they are a necessity or you will drink too fast and be uncomfortable. Mr Dr. has us taking two Tums-ex daily for the added calcium. Hot teas are good and the Alpine sugar-free hot apple cider is wonderful, sometimes I have trouble finding it though. We were put on soft foods while still in the hospital, so I had cottage cheese, scrambled eggs and tuna fish before I was released on my third day. Hope this helps.

Phone card for long-distance phone calls in hospital; long tongs and wet-wipes for after the potty; sugar-free chocolate pops; instant mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, cheese to melt over the instant potatoes, some egg beaters or eggs, sugar free hot chocolate, sugar free yellow, cream based soups (chicken, etc.), low-fat crackers, some baby spoons and baby forks are wonderful!; also tiny rubbermaid containers or use coffee cup saucers to eat off of.
