Question:
"Ernie" is making noises all of a sudden...what's up?
"Ernie" - my hubby, best friend and I named my pouch, since he has a mind of his own - has started making what sounds like digestive noises. Now this isn't making me crazy or anything...but I am over 5 months post op and it just started happening. I thought I'd never hear those noises again, since I hadn't heard them since surgery. Then, for the past week or so, I can "hear" my digestion happening. This happen for anyone else?? Thanks! Open RNY 7/17/01. — blee01 (posted on December 22, 2001)

Hi Bobbi- Well I for one have a construction site in my new tummy! I am 11
months post op and my hubby can hear my tummy digesting when he's in the
next room! It started all of a sudden about two months ago. Doctor doesn't
seem too concerned. Hey, if thats just a side effect of losing 135 lbs-
I'll take it! LOL Good Luck!

Yes!! Mine makes all kinds of crazy sounds. It's actually kinda funny... My
family, friends and I all used to giggle about it...but I think we're all
about used to it now. If someone new is around I just say "oh I had
gastric bypass, just ignore my belly" with a proud grin.

Mine makes noises whenever I eat anything with sugar or bread and also when
I try anything I haven\'t had since surgery. Weird--how does it know??? It
doesn\'t bother me much, though. The guy I share my office with is a
burper. I can\'t possibly make as much noise as he does! :P

Thanks for posting a great question. I too have \"noises\"
coming from my tummy. I am now 6 mo\'s post-op and this has been happening
for the past few weeks. I was starting to think maybe my food was traveling
to places it should not be. Glad to know I am not the only one!

Hi! Me too. I don\'t know why, but at a year post-op, my tmmy makes all
kinds of sounds. And they are very loud. I sometimes put my hands around
where the noise is coming from and I can \"feel\" the rumbles.
Stange, huh? Well, you\'re certainly not alone.
