I have had a consultation and work with 2 women who have had their surgery
performed by Dr Friedman. I liked him. The gals that I know have been
very successful and really like him. He's a competent surgeon. As of now
he is only doing the open rny.

Dr. Friedman has a profile on this website (like ours). He should be in
the database--I've done extensive research on Dr. Friedman and much info
has come from ObesityHelp.com. There is more info and a photo at
www.wlssgroup.com. I had really wanted to go with Dr. F but he has a
really long waiting list and Dr. Patterson could get me in a month earlier
(insurance stuff & total impatience on my part!). Good Luck!

Hi, I had a consult scheduled with Dr. Friedman for October 10th, though
after meeting some patients of Dr. Emma Patterson and doing some research
about her and the bariatric program at Legacy, I changed my mind. I'm sure
Dr. Friedman is a fine surgeon, but it just seems to me that Dr.
Patterson's program is a little bit more evolved.
When I called to schedule my consult with Dr. Friedman, the woman on the
phone was gruff and seemed reluctant to answer my questions. Also, Dr.
Patterson does the RNY, the Lap Band and the CTP (Formerly known as the
duodenal switch) and she does them all laprascopically.(sp) Yes I have to
wait until November now before I see Dr. Patterson, but I have already been
able to be extremely proactive in getting things prepared and having as
much information as possible before then.
Best of luck on your journey.
