Question:
Is losing 100 pounds in 4 months to much?
I had wls on March 12, 2001 and have lost 100 pounds as of this morning. I'm very happy with the weight loss, but I'm a little afraid that I'm losing too fast. Has anyone else lost this quickly?? My doctor suggested that I slow the weight loss down, but it just keeps coming off. I started at 372 and I'm at 272. Any advise would be helpful. Shelly — S.A. C. (posted on July 2, 2001)

Hi! First of all Congrats! I had surgery on 2/22 and have lost 98lbs as of
today. I started at 326lbs. I have heard that the heavier we start at the
faster we fall! Don't worry about it. Your body knows what it's doing!

Okay, I must preface my co,mment by saying that I know nothing, I am pre-op
and waiting for initial concult. I think that your weight loss is great!!
What are you eating? What and how much exercise are you doing?

Sound great to me! I had my open VBG three weeks ago today, and have lost
31.5 lbs - so 100 in 4 months is certainly
a goal for me!!

hi, I wanted to let you know that I too lost 100 lbs in just over four
months. I started at 328 and was worried that I was loosing too fast. Now
at 8 months out (as of today) I am down 145 so the weight loss does slow. I
don't know how to put into words how to feel better about the loss, but
know that you are doing fine. It took me four months and 2 weeks to hit
that century mark and for some they loose it faster, some loose it slower.
A lot depends on your body and your post op program. be proud to be a
century member! Congrats! e-mail me if you like ([email protected]) if i
can give you any assurence.
