Dr. Sugerman and Dr. De Maria both do LAP RNY at the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) in Richmond, VA. There are a number of people who are members of this site, that have used both. I am scheduled with Dr. Sugerman on 5/30/01. Good Luck and God Bless!

I used Dr. John Alverdy from University of Chicago. He does Lap and is very experienced. My experience with him is great.

Hi Marty, I see from your profile that you are from Missouri. I checked the "find a doc" link for your state and I found one doctor that does lap RNY-His name is James S. Scott and he is located in Wentzville. Check it out and you will see comments from patients and their e-mail addresses are also available for asking specific questions about this surgeon. Hi Marty-if you do live in Missouri there are only two surgeons that do this procedure lap, that is Dr. Scott/Dr. Delatorre (co-surgeons) and Dr. Eagon. I had my surgery on 4/16/01 from Dr. Scott/Dr. Delatorre and have had no complications so far. I am very happy with their competence as well as several of their other patients. I also know many people in my support group that had Dr. Eagon as a surgeon and have also only heard good things about him. Please feel free to email me if you have any ?'s. Good luck to you

Dr. JK Champion of Atlanta is a board-certified thoracic/vascular and bariatric surgeon who has specialized in laparascopic RNY and VBG since 1994. He is internationally recognized and patients travel from across the US and Canada for his services.
