Question:
How often do kinks happen in the intestines?

A friend of mine that had surgery three weeks ago stoped being able to keep anything down. After returning to the Dr. the found that she had a block in her intestines. She can't tell yet if it is a kink or if the intestines are just swollen. They are making her not eat or drink for three days and then they said that they would do another x-ray to see which one it is. If it is a kink they are going to have to do more surgery. I am having surgery in 20 days and I just wanted to know how often this happens. I know that complications can happen I guess I just didn't think it would to someone I knew. Thanks-Ann    — Ann M.
