Question:
For those looking for reasons to have the surgery..another reason....

I am 7 weeks postop....I spent 1 year researching the surgery before I was ready to have the surgery..I had decided to have the surgery because I was a 45 year old woman and I had NO PROBLEMS...I was in perfect health and the only thing wrong with me was my Obesity....BUT...I did get up at night and take tums all night..didn't think anything of it though...THis week I recieved the report from my surgeon on the actual surgery it turns out that I have "Barrett's Esophagus" which means I have pre cancerous cells in my throut. Now that I have done this surgery I will probably not have a problem in the future from this because I no longer have acid going up my throut....With my obesity brought the fear that I would have cancer etc and never know it because of my size. 2/16/01 - 3/1/01 38lbs off forever.    — Debora H.
