Question:
Precertification Denial- What next?

Ok- I went to my PCP, he agreed to give me a referal. Unfortunately their are not any in-network providers who "do" wls. I then found I needed to get a special authorization to go out of network. As soon as the insurance company found out what I wanted to go out of network for the stated "this is not a covered benefit". So I decided I would appeal. I also plan on attending a seminar soon. What should I do, appeal the denial for precertification or let the surgeons office out of network do this????? HELP!    — toscamaddox (posted on February 21, 2001)
