My daughter and I both had our lap RNYs by Dr. Champion this year. As a
nurse, I did extensive research before choosing the type of surgery and the
surgeon. Dr. Champion is internationally recognized not only as a
thoracic/vascular/bariatric surgeon, but as an educator of other surgeons
in this field. I personally cannot recommend him highly enough. Please
feel free to write me privately for more [email protected].
Best wishes!

Debra, you could not pick a better surgeon. I had my lap RNY with Dr.
Champion 11/16/99. I flew from NJ to have this highly competent and
experienced lap surgeon take care of me. I, too, am an RN and did
extensive research before I chose Dr. Champion. My post op recovery was
uncomplicated
and quick. I was back at work 12 days after surgery. My surgery lasted only
1 hour and 30 minutes from first cut to close. His level of expertise is
matched by about only 3 or 4 other lap surgeons in the country who do
gastric bypasses. If you are on the west coast, that's Dr. Wittgrove's
territory, but if you come east, Dr. Champion is one of the best. Good
luck with your journey, Sandy
