Question:
My surgeon told me that the RNY would get rid of my REFLUX problem.
My question is does the BPS/DS also control REFLUX ? Thanks for any input from those with experience in this area. — Linda Y. (posted on July 2, 2000)

Hi Linda... The answer is yes, the bps/ds does control reflux, but I'm not
too good at explaining. My doctor told me he removes the part of the
stomach that makes the acid which is also why DS postop's dont have a
problem with ulcers. To get a more technical answer, please post your
question to the DS list at: <a

My Gerd is gone too from my RNY. I sleep through every night now, where I
use to suck tums all night. Never had to have a tums since surgery almost
10 months ago.
