Question:
~Attention: Ohio Residents~
I was hoping for more of a response from Ohio Residents, about contacting public officials to make new legislation on making it illegal for a insurance company to deny coverage for the morbidly obese. Even for those, who have been approved, or already had surgery, I think it is still Important for us to fight for the people who are having to fight so hard, for the right to have a healthy normal life. It is our responibility to stick togeather, help one another, and let our voices be heard. I have the address to the governor, senate, and house, among others, or you can use MSN and type in Ohio Public Officials, and email them. Again if you would like to see a example of my letter please feel free to contact me at [email protected], and please include information about the New bill passed In Indiana, if you would like the link to that page. Please contact me too....100 Voices can be heard alot clearer then 1...*Smiles* Thankyou.......We CAN make a Difference!!!! — Ann A. (posted on March 23, 2000)

Does anyone know whether the new law in Indiana concerning obesity surgery
was signed by the governor or not? I know it passed the state house and
senate, but the governor was saying he wouldn't sign it due to budget
concerns. Just wondering whether he decided to sign it afterall?

I'm in ohio, and am interested -- I was denied coverage by anthem blue
cross and blue shield ( as an individual payor ) they said they could not
cover me, because I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder (sent them a letter
from a psychiatrist renouncing diagnosis) and because I weighed too much!!!
