Question:
I battle hunger all the time. Why?
I am almost 2 years out from RNY with 150 cm bypassed. I am always hungry. I can eat a decent sized meal - 2oz turkey, 1/4 cup stuffing, beans, and mashed potatoes. Then an hour later, I am hungry again. It doesn't matter what I eat or how much I eat, I feel hunger less than an hour after eating. I will eat until I am full and then a half hour later find myself looking in the fridge for more food. The only times I do not feel hungry later is when I over do it such as going to a buffet. Have you had your mechanics checked?

I have had that problem too. The only thing that stopped me from feeling
hungry was to limit my carbs. When I don't eat pasta, bread, rice, or
potatoes, after a day or two, I do not feel hungry anymore. I mostly eat
meats and vegetables. And that satisfies me.

Like another poster suggested, try staying away from carbs or limiting them
and stick with dense protein, like meats they will stay with you longer.
And like Michelle suggested have you insides checked out to make sure there
is nothing wrong mechanically.

I agree with everything posted so far. Carb food (stuffing, potatos, mmmm
turkey gravy) go down so easily and leave me hungry again in no time. :(
Try stiking to protien and veggies for a few days and see if that helps.
If not, call your doc and see if you might have a SLD or if your stoma is
too big. But for me at least, it's the carb thing. Good luck.

Same as everybody has said. You are eating way too many carbs!
Stuffing?????? You need to eat protein and vegetables (Potatoes and corn
are not vegetables, I'm talking green stuff!). Stay away from starch. 3
meals a day. If you get hungry in between try the lowest carb beef jerky
you can find. Also water load in between meals. About 30-45 minutes after
your meal, start drinking water. That will help keep you full. Because
you may have gotten your system on a carb roller coaster, it may take a few
days days for you to start feeling better and less hungry. Hang in there.

As I understand it, 1/2 of your meal should be protein, followed by veggies
and if there is still room, fruit. Sounds to me like you're eating far too
many carbs. Up your protein, make sure you're not drinking with your meals
and make sure you're getting in plenty of water. Dense protein takes
longer to be broken down then simple carbs...
