Question:
Can anyone recommend a Gastroenterologist who specializes in treating rny's post op?

I am still suffering from Acid Reflux symptoms 18 mos. post RNY. I just moved to the Houston area and would like a recommendation for a Gastorenterologist who specializes in treating Gastric Bypass post ops. I would like to get off of the Acid Reflux meds I take, Aciphex and Motillium a medicine, I get from New Zealand, which, I was informed about by the Head of Gastro Doc at John's Hopkins, because I would like to become pregnant and cannot on these meds. My Surgeon (before I left NY) said I need to see a Gastro Dr. to properly diagnose if it truly is Acid Reflux to see if Surgery is warranted. Please, please recommend a good Dr. in my area. Your in luck. I went to Houston to have my surgery for GERD. I used a wonderful doc and he did a lot of tests first to make sure it was truly GERD. His name is: MICHAEL H KLEINMAN MD 7500 BEECHNUT #240 HOUSTON, TX 77074 (713) 981-7777 He is GREAT!! He takes his time during surgery. He never rushes. He treats you like you are his only patient at the time of surgery. He never worries about the surgery before or the one after. I love him. I went to Hermann Southwest Memorial Hospital to have my surgery and I have NO complaints. Good luck and let me know.

Have you been tested for H-pylori?? It is a bacteria that lives in your stomach and causes burning and ulcer type symptoms. If you haven't had the tests for it you should. It could save you a lot of heartache and pain. Good luck.
