Question:
Appeal Letters to TriCare Prime.
I am looking for examples of Appeal Letters that worked to TriCare Prime and possibly for the listed reconstructive surgeries, 1) Mammoplasty Augmentation (W/implants), Mastopexy w/Implants (Breast lift), Augmentation Mammaplasty (Reduction); 2) Full Abdominoplasty with Liposuction; 3) Dermolipectomy Arm (Brachioplastie); 4) Dermolipectomy Thigh-buttock lift (Thighplastie). Thank You. Shari — Shari M. (posted on July 21, 2004)

Hi, I didn't have to appeal because Tricare approved my bypass on the first
attempt. I'm just wondering what excuse they gave you? Normally Tricare is
one of the easier ones to get approval through, although navigating the
labyrinth of protocol is a pain in the @*(! If you want to email me, please
do so, and I'll try to do what I can to help you figure it out, based on
what I learned through them last year when I had mine. Best of luck! Keep
fighting. Believe me, it's worth it!

The only thing I have to offer is that it is my understanding that you will
NEVER get plastic surgery for your arms approved by Tricare, no way, no
how. This is what I was told by a benefits advisor at my base hospital, she
said under no circumstances is it EVER approved in ANY region. That one may
be futile. As for the rest, FIGHT 'EM!
