Question:
Does Greatwest Insurance Require Out Of Pocket / Copay
Anyone out there who used Great West Healtcare PPO insurance for lap band surgery? If so did the require a copay/out of pocket expenses for the surgery and about how much? — Johanna W. (posted on July 16, 2004)

I have Great West but I had RNY not Lap Band so I do not know if it is
exactly the same. I had co-pays with the doctor appointments but have not
had to pay anything for the actual surgery. I am 8 months out and it was
definitely the right thing for me and would have done it even if I had to
pay!

I also had the same insurance as you. The only fee I had to pay up front
was the $25 specialist copay on the day of my consult. I also paid
out-of-pocket for my psyche eval, because I hadn't met the deductible. Of
course, now some of the other bills are rolling in...but even they are very
small...SO FAR. Great insurance company...it has earned it's name!
