Hi Debi: The end of your question got cut off and I don't know what state
you're asking about. But I don't think it matters. My understanding is
medicaid and medical and those kind of state and federal sponsored programs
pay for anything that a doctor deems medically necessary. The trick will
be to find a plastic surgeon that takes your insurance. I also believe
that you won't even need to wait for preapproval. That you get the surgery
and then they submit for payment. But don't listen to anyone's answer
here. Call up the insurance directly and ask. If you get someone who says
it's not covered, call back and talk to someone else and make sure you get
the same answer. And/or find a doctor in your area that takes your
insurance and see what they say. I imagine they'll know if it's going to
be covered or not since they've probably gotten payment from another
patient before you. Best of luck on getting your surgery. S
